These 3mm sheets of Natural white Finnboard Laser Card measure 1000mm x 700mm and are smooth on both sides. Finnboard, also known as Finnpappe and Finnish machine wood cardboard, is an easy-to-cut, high-density card. The sheets are much easier to cut than wood sheets of the same thickness. They can be cut with a craft knife/scalpel, formed into curves when damp, and are 100% recyclable material. Therefore, it can be disposed of easily and cost-effectively as waste paper. The sheets are perfectly flat and are not prone to warping, provided the sheets are stored in dry conditions the sheets will maintain their size and shape. These sheets are supplied as a pack of 10.
The sheets are made from multiple layers and have been classified as food safe and is suitable for contact with dry and non-fatty foodstuffs as a protective layer or lining as well as for secondary packaging. They have also been classed as a safe material for toys and can be used for e.g. in puzzles, board games, toy packaging and much more.
The sheets are sturdy but very lightweight and they can be bent by hand. When engraved, the engraved areas take on a similar appearance to Kraft paper. They can easily be glued and laminated or glued to other materials. The sheets can also be painted, drawn on, and decorated with crayons or coloured pencils. Once suitably decorated, these sheets can be used as a finish for other materials.
Finnboard Laser Card can be used for many applications but is particularly suited to model-making and prototyping. Other typical uses include; picture framing, furnishings for dollhouses/dioramas, making boxes, bookbinding, hanging signs, wall covering, as an intermediate layer when drying etchings, and other general crafting items. It is also suitable for Digital printing, Large format digital printing, Letterpress, and Screen printing.
