Description

These 0.5mm Polypropylene Sheets are suitable for a wide range of D&T applications. These sheets let light through but have a frosted finish, which is good for diffusing light. One surface of the sheet has a fine sand finish and the other has an orange emboss (anti-glare) finish.

The 0.5mm gauge makes the sheets flexible and therefore ideal for products requiring a curved finish. They are also static treated to minimise dust attraction.

Polypropylene sheets are often used to make products such as office stationery, folders, files, covers, signs, lamps, lightings, jewellery, fashion accessories, etc.

Working with Polypropylene:

These Polypropylene sheets can be cut safely on a laser cutter (please note the edges will be slightly 'burred' and do not appear 'polished' like Perspex) and unlike PVC they do not create any chlorine gas. The sheets can also be cut using a sharp knife. You can crease the material using a cold or hot creasing technique. The resulting 'hinges' can be folded many times without the material breaking.

Q:
Hello, am I able to cut this on a Cricut Explore Air 2 cutting machine? Thank you.
Asked by: G
A:
Hello, The polypropylene sheet can be cut with a sharp knife or scissors, so it may be possible to use the machine you mentioned. However to be sure you would be best checking with the manufacturer before trying it out.

Q:
Do both side of the sheet have the same surface finish/grit?
Asked by: Kevin Verelst
A:
Hi Kevin, No each side of the sheet is finished slightly differently. One surface of the sheet has a fine sand finish and the other has a less coarse sand emboss finish. So one side is smooth in finish while the other has more of a textured finish.

Q:
What is the best way to print on the sheet? Laser or inkjet?
Can they be sublimation printed?
Asked by: Michelle Westwood
A:

Hi Michelle, We don’t have any information on printing using a laser or inkjet printer. It is likely these methods wouldn’t produce the best results. However you are able to use sublimation printing.
