All of these Antex soldering irons have a silicone heat resistant cable which makes them much harder wearing and safer in a school environment.

The XS25 25W iron is ideal for situations where the extra power is needed for soldering larger parts. This iron is available as a mains powered unit only.

Answered by the admin Thank you for your question, that is correct these would not need an adapter and should plug directly into a mains socket.
  2. We currently use Antex soldering irons in our D T department at the school. We however use lower voltage irons so therefore using a voltage reducer. However we are considering using mains unit. Do you supply these units to school communities?Do you know if mains units are acceptable in schools due to the 230v 50 hz supply required? Many Thanks Les Mellor - D T Technician

Answered by the admin Hi Les, Yes these soldering irons are available for schools to purchase, this would be done in the same method as any of our other products. This product runs off a standard mains power supply and as such is fine to be used in a school environment, All of these Antex soldering irons have a silicone heat resistant cable which makes them much harder wearing and safer in a school environment. As with any electrical device regular checks on the cable and unit are recommended to ensure a damaged device isn’t used.
