These 3.7V Polymer Lithium-Ion (LiPo) batteries provide a high power capacity in a very small lightweight package. This makes them ideal for many applications. They are often used in portable consumer products such as Bluetooth speakers and mobile phones.

The batteries are supplied with 100mm leads terminated with a standard 2 pin JST connector.

These Polymer Lithium batteries come with a built-in protection circuit which protects against; over-voltage, over current, over-discharge and also provides short circuit protection. When fully charged the battery will have a voltage of around 4.2V and when fully discharged the battery has a cut off voltage of 2.4V.

These batteries do not have a hard protective case. You should take care when housing the batteries in your design to ensure they have sufficient mechanical protection to protect the battery from any possible damage. If a battery does become damaged (dented, bent, etc) then it should not be used.

Lithium Polymer batteries require special charging circuits. Do not attempt to charge these with anything but a specialised Lithium Polymer charger.

Though these cells are rated for discharge rates of up to 2.1A, due to the connecting wire and connector used we do not recommend exceeding a discharge rate of more than 1A.

Features:

  • Built-in protection circuit to prevent overcharging or discharging.
  • Built-in short circuit protection circuit.
  • Robust power source under extreme conditions (-10 to 60C).
  • JST connector.

Contents:

  • 1 x Polymer Lithium-Ion Battery – 1000mAh.

Dimensions:

  • Maximum Length: 34.5mm.
  • Maximum Width: 6.2mm.
  • Maximum Height: 52mm.
  • Cable Length: 100mm (nominal).

Caution:

  • These batteries are capable of delivering high current output. If using conductive thread, a short in the circuit (between thread) could create sparks and heat. We recommend using coin cell holders and batteries for wearable projects.
  • When removing the JST connector from a socket do not pull it out using the connecting wires as this can damage the connector.
  • Neither the battery nor its protection circuit are waterproof, and if being used in an environment where water contact is possible or likely then the battery should be further protected.

Q Hi, i was wondering how long does it last in the bluetooth speaker kit when fully charged?
Asked by Finlay Chew on April 29, 2019 12:00 am
Answered by the admin Hi Finlay,

Thank you for your question, the Blue Tooth Amp draws between 35mA and 120mA of power depending on volume and usage.

This battery can hold upto 1000mA of power so 29 hours to 8 hours depending on current draw.

    best Regards

Asked by Steve Allgood on July 24, 2018 12:00 am
Answered by the admin Hi Steve, The charger is integrated within the Bluetooth chip itself. As such the bluetooth chip LiPo charger can provide up to 350mA (as long as you're supply at least that amount to the board in the first place).
For a 1000mAH LiPo, this means it should be fully charged from flat in approximately 2 hrs 50 mins.
This is the minimum time, at lower charging currents it will be longer.
  8. Does this battery replace Kobo 1/ICP4/43/55, which is bigger? Is the terminal the same as the Kobo battery? Thanks

Asked by Malcolm Taylor on March 27, 2018 12:00 am
Answered by the admin Hello Malcolm, We are not aware that this battery has replaced the one you mentioned. We have stocked this battery for a number of years and this hasn't altered. The battery is supplied with a standard 2 pin JST connector. I am unsure of the connector used on the battery you have mentioned however it appears to be a smaller version of JST.
  10. Do you guys stock or can you confirm which JST PCB header would fit the connector please? Considering using them to power some small LED circuits for a tabletop wargaming project as they're smaller than having to use 3xAAs. I'm assuming it's this one: https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/pcb-headers/8201422/ but need to be sure.Thank you!
