Further Information

Q:
what is this used for
Asked by: suc ur marge
A:
Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your question, the resistors are for protecting circuits from excess voltage being put through them. For example if you put 9V into a 3V LED you would damage it so resistors can protect against such.

Best Regards

Q:
Hi does this product have a r6 6.8k resistor that is blue grey red pls need it urgently for project for school thanks jordan
Asked by: Jordan
A:
Hi Jordan, The resistor pack of 100 isn't 100 different resistors, it is however a pack of 100 of a particular valued resistor. We do have a 6.8K version, it is code 3003-6K8.

Q:
So just to confirm your calculator gives me a result of 150ohms, so I need a resistor 3003-150r is this right
Asked by: Susan nice
A:
Hi Susan, I'm not too sure why you have been given a value that high if you are using just 3V as a power supply. It also appears my previous answer is slightly wrong as the incorrect information was pulled through. With the 35103 LED you wouldn't require a resistor if powering from a 3V LED.

Q:
what Is the difference between r and k on ordering resistors
Asked by: steven page
A:

The R and K are used to help identify the value of the resistor. Resistance is measure in Ohm, but if you were to put that after the number it could be confused for a different value as it could be mistaken for a zero. The K refers to Kiloohms, so a resistor marked as 3003-1K, would have a value of 1KOhm or 1000 Ohm’s. The R is used when the resistor value is less than a Kiloohm, for example 3003-10R is a 10 Ohm resistor. When the R falls between numbers for example 3003-4R7 it would have a value of 4.7 Ohm’s.
