    Thank you for your question, the MES lamp holders are not polarity sensitive as MES lamp bulbs are not polarity sensitive. though LEDs made to be compatible with these would have a polarity which would be best to check if you are using LEDs.

    This can be used as a small electric light but it is not especially bright.
