If I string enough of these LEDs in series, would I be able to run said string from the mains: say a string of 100? If so, would I need a rectified supply (240Vdc) for this to work, or would AC be OK? And what about current-limiting resistors in this scenario?

Answered by the admin Hi Vernon, You would be able to power 1 LED from a mains wall power supply such as https://www.kitronik.co.uk/2208-5v-1a-micro-usb-uk-mains-wall-power-supply.html which is similar to a standard mobile phone charger, you could run around 40-50 LEDs depending on the current draw. You would be better putting the LEDs in parallel rather than series and each LED would require a suitably rated resistor which would vary depending on the LEDs you use and the power supply.
Hi if I buy 2aa case with 3v with connector for 35103 led which is 3v do I still need resistor and where do I put it in line?

Answered by the admin Hi Susan, If you were using 3V with this LED you would need to put a 47 Ohm resistor in series with the LED. This value is based on using 3V with 1 LED.
