Hello, I have a couple of questions concerning the RTC:
1. What is the reference address name (to be used in Make code) of single ZIP LED, which I guess needs the Pixel extension also to work?
2. I have the 32text LCD screen attached to the Klimate (thanks for your separate help of this). Additional question the Microbit own matrix LED auto scrolls data from the Klimate even though it is not included in the makecode program, is this correct?

Hi Steven,

Thank you for your question, regarding the ZIP LED on the board it is controlled from PIN 0 of the micro:bit so you would state a range of 1 attached to Pin 0. If its the extension port then this links to Pins 19 and 20.

Could you send me over the code and I can take a look to see what's happening for you with the scrolling.

In your illustrations the MicroBit is shown inserted with display side facing away from the link pads. On the PCB it says "Link Pads only active when BBC microbit display facing this side". Does that mean that the link pads are not accessible when using the Klimate board as it is shown inserted with the display facing away from the link pads? Your answer to Maarten's post (03/02/19) gives me the impression that the MicroBit can be inserted both ways round.

Hi Simon,

The micro:bit can be inserted either way round into the card reader and it will still be able to make use of everything pictured on the left hand side of the board.

If it was inserted with the pixel display not facing the link header pads you would not be able to use the link pad but the rest of it would still work. If you inserted it the opposite way round so the led display faces the link pads you could use the full functionality of the board.

1. To which micro:bit port is the onboard Zip LED1 on the Klimate board connected?
2. To which micro:bit port is the Zip expansion port on the Klimate board connected?
3. There are two empty pads on the PCB marked R4 and R5. What are these intended for?

Thank you for your question, the ZIP LED is on Pin 0. The expansion port is on Pin 1. The R4/ R5 are for if you want to add pull up resistors to the I2C line.

The datasheet says "An example microPython use is available from KITRONIK GIT HUB https://github.com/KitronikLtd". I couldn't find this - only the PXT blocks. Where can I find the micropython examples? Thanks.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your question, I do apologise that is a mistake in our data sheet. We were originally creating micro python code for this but were unable to complete the project.

Unfortunately micro python takes up a lot of space with the code and because the code you would need to run this board is quite complex it take sup more space than the micro:bit can handle.

Q:
Is it possible to use the klimate board's RTC and sensors and some digital outputs at the same time? My son wants to build an automated mini greenhouse (controlling the light and a water pump using two relays and the ventilation openings using a servo).
The 'link pads only active when BBC microbit display facing this side" in combination with the movie where the display faces the other side made me doubt. On the other hand, if I had design a board like this, I would just connect all sensors to the I2C bus and keep the other outputs available.
Can someone help me out?

Hi Marten,

Thank you for your email, it is set up to run the sensors through the I2C bus and you can run outputs and sensors from it at the same time. You would need to have the micro:bit facing the pins rather than the rest of the board basically because of the set up of the micro:bit.
