The Servo:Lite board for the BBC micro:bit is a simple board that allows you to easily connect and control low power servo motors (servo's must be capable of operating at 3.3V) using the BBC micro:bit. It is connected to the micro:bit using five bolts. Connect two servos in standard configuration and it can drive up to 3 servos if the addressable 'ZIP' LEDs aren’t needed.
It is powered by 3 AAA batteries and also supplies power to the BBC micro:bit, the board features an On / off switch so when it's not in use the batteries won't drain.
The board also features 5 x RGB individually addressable ZIP LEDs (NeoPixel compatible) and additional external ZIP LEDs can be connected to the board as required.

Once the Servo:Lite board is attached to the microbit there is a maximum clearance of 6mm for the plastic sheath of the USB cable. Our noodle cables and the cable which is supplied in the official Go pack both fit.

Rest of the world
These orders are sent via UPS, and the cost is dependant on the service you choose at checkout. Alternatively you can choose the free collection option and have your own courier collect it from us. International orders can only be shipped to the registered card address. Please note: International orders may be charged import duty dependant on local import laws and duty rates. These charges are usually billed to you directly from UPS.

Hello, What is the maximum input voltage for this board? I need more power for my servos, so would like to run it off a 5v USB battery, with the servo powered directly (reroute the servo power cable, leave the control cable in place). Can the regulator still power the microbit off the same 5v power input? Thank you.

Thank you for your email, you would need to power the sero lite board still with the 3 x batteries even if you powered the servos externally. You would also need to make sure that the ground for the external power went to the servo and the ground from there back to the servo lite board as well as the positive cable.

Hi, I'm using the servo lite board that came with the move mini buggy kit. I'm using the example code to control the two servos. The servo attached to the second connector however is not working. When attached to number 1 there is no problem. I figure there must be something wrong with the connector on the board? Any ideas? Thx, Michel

Hi Michel, The most likely issues is that the screw hasn't been sufficiently tightened onto the micro:bit, which then means the pin headers for servo 2 isn't receiving the correct signal. As such the first thing to check is that the screw connected through connector '2' on the micro:bit and servo: lite is tight. If this is tight then the next thing to check is that the pin headers appear securely connected and when the servo is plugged in the connection still appears secure.
