This Kitronik University resource is part of the BBC micro:bit partnership and explains exactly what is included in the Kitronik BBC micro:bit partner free e-textiles sample pack. We're proud to be sponsoring a free e-textiles sample pack for every secondary school in the U.K. The pack contains enough components to do two tutorials (provided one of them connects conductive thread directly to the BBC micro:bit, or reuses crocodile clips). You'll also receive a BBC micro:bit along with your sample pack (not provided by Kitronik). If you are missing the booklet you can download it here or view it below. Please note, a Welsh translation of this booklet will be available to download from this page once complete.
Contents:
- 4m Conductive thread.

- 3 White standard through hole LEDs.
- 4 Slim crocodile clips.
- Instruction booklet.

Sample packs should be arriving with you during the first term on the new school year. What can you do with it?
We've prepared some step by step tutorials of projects which you can do with your free sample pack. We'll be using our expert knowledge which we've accumulated over the last 10 years from having developed the kits & teaching materials to support the sales of over a million educational electronic project kits to deliver some e-textiles tutorials with step by step instructions describing everything a student will need to do to make the project as well as the details of how to program the BBC micro:bit.©Kitronik Ltd – You may print this page & link to it, but must not copy the page or part thereof without Kitronik's prior written consent.

Hi Nancy, That's not a problem we still have the sample kits for free. If you go to the link below and select sample 2757 that will be what's in the blog above. When you say the soft torch kits do you mean our squeezy torch kits on the link below ? They are priced the same as on the website so for 40+ you are currently looking at £1.30 a kit. https://www.kitronik.co.uk/samples https://www.kitronik.co.uk/2148-squeezy-torch-kit.html all the best Cullen

Hi, I want to get one of the e-textile kits advertised on kitronik university. Could you email me how I can get one? If no longer free, please price up a kit for me. Also interested in little soft switch torches. How much per torch set? Need 40+

Hi and thanks for getting in touch. The e-textiles kits were sent out automatically to schools DandT departments for the launch of the micro:bit. We did have a few left after this but I'm sure they have now all gone out. We might be able to organise an e-textiles sample for your school. If you email support@kitronik.co.uk our customer support team will be happy to assist. I hope this helps.

Hi there, Is there any chance of free kits being sent out to KS2 please? We are keen to address coding from an early age and to make links with our secondary schools. On a minimal budget too. All hep would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Emma

Can't wait to start playing with the micro:bit. Do we need to request the free e-textiles sample or will it be sent to schools automatically next term? I would be grateful if you could let me know. Thanks.
