    Hello,I'd like to run a class project turning a DC motor into a generator to power an LED. Initially it will be hand-cranked, with a large cranked pulley driving a tiny pulley on the motor to step up the speed. Which of your DC motors would be most suitable for this application? As always, the lower end of the price range is better.Thanks,Doug

    Answered by the admin Hi Doug,

    Thank you for your question it would be best to use one of our geared motors on the link below but even then it is quite difficult to generate the required voltage and current to light the LED.

    Answered by the admin Hi Tony, The motor can be fixed in place by the holes on the front of the motor. However it does appear we reference the incorrect size mounting and it may be a M2.5 bolt. We on working on getting this corrected with the correct size.     Answered by the admin I believe that the motor should be ok. I believe you will have to use some form of gearing to slow the rotation as I doubt you will want your spit to rotate at 7930 RPM which the motor does under no load.
