This kit has seven LEDs that are used to display a random dice number every time the ‘start’ button is pressed. A PIC micro-controller, pre-programmed with special software controls the dice.

The ‘start’ switch mounts directly onto the board allowing it to be used as built or the dice can be housed into an enclosure.

    Answered by the admin Hi Aggi, The kit is aimed at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, so students 11 years and older. That being said if the child was competent or a suitable adult was present there wouldnb't be a reason why someone younger couldnb't built the kit.

    Answered by the admin Hi Charles, It is possible to order the pre-programmed IC, however due to the nature of the product it isn't available via the website and is only available for schools. As such orders for this must be placed via a purchase order with the code PIC2109.

    Answered by the admin All kits list the parts used in them, but as we don't sell the PCB or the pre-programmed chips separately there is not the option to buy all the parts needed for the kit. The parts are listed so that people know exactly what they are getting in the kit.

    Answered by the admin All our kits are supplied with teaching material in the form of a small A5 booklet and school additionally get a CD with the teaching material on it.
