The Big Food Survey And The BBC microbit:
"You can start preparing by downloading The Big Food Survey preparation information here. We want to make sure both teachers and students are ready to take part. The results from this survey could be used in future science classes all over the UK, as well as in actual scientific research - so you don't want to miss out! Year 8 students across the UK will be able to share their behaviours and opinions on food, using the BBC microbit to capture data and their responses. It gives students the chance to have their say on one of today’s most pressing topics and will reveal what the UK’s 12 - 13 year olds are eating and drinking, and how their schools, homes, parents, carers and friends affect their nutrition and health. So get involved! It's a great way to tuck into all the great activities we've got for schools. Find out more about The Big Food Survey here."To take part in the microbit activities of The Crunch, you and your students should already be familiar with the basics of using a micro:bit. If you've not had a chance to get familiar with one yet, no worries! Check out the Getting Started page, the Kitronik BBC micro:bit resources section or the Tech Will Save Us Introduction to the BBC micro:bit to take your first steps with confidence.
