Further Information

Hi, instead of getting: 25 blue flashing LEDs 25 red flashing LEDs 25 yellow flashing LEDs 25 green flashing LEDs 10 colour changing LED when ordering this pack, am I able to have just half blue and half white leds? I'm not interested in the other colours. Thanks, Grace.
Asked by: Grace
HI Grace, Thank you for your question I am afraid not we just build these packs in that combination. Best Regards Cullen

Hello! Are the battery holders "switchable"? How are they turned on and off? Just pressure? Or does the circuit require a switch?
Asked by: Nick Clark
Hi Nick, The coin cell holders provided in this bulk pack are the basic coin cell holders, 2701-sewable-coin-cell-holder. They will allow power to flow when the battery is inserted, to stop power flowing the battery would need to be removed. Although switches are included in the bulk pack these could be purchased alongside to enable the circuits to be switched on/off, our E-textiles switches can be found at E-textiles switches and sensors .

How do you attach the LEDs in these kits - is there an LED that is sewable?
Asked by: Sarah Lloyd-Wood
Hi Sarah, You can see an example of how to attach these LEDs here, getting-started-e-textiles-basic-circuit-standard-led it is a case of bending the legs to create a loop. In the bulk pack we don't currently have the options to have sewable LEDs. However you can also turn a standard LED into a sewable LED using this board, 2746-electro-fashion-sewable-5mm-led-holder-pack-of-10.

The Bulk Pack for 60 persons has 110 LEDs. Why does it not have 120, so that each person can have 2 LEDs?
Asked by: Debora

The reason for this is that you can only use 1 colour changing LED per coin cell. This is due to how much current it draws when making certain colours, if you have two or more it wouldn’t be able to make these certain colours and the LED would just reset to the start of the cycle. This means there are enough LED’s for 50 students to have 2 flashing LED’s and 10 students to have 1 colour changing LED’s.

Hi, I would like to do an e-textiles project with my textiles club before trialling in lessons! Which kit would you recommend? I have been on course a couple of years ago but need a project that is as simple as possible! I like the idea of the zipper creature - do you sell this in a kit form?
Asked by: Dayna Danczak
The kit that you have looked at on the website is perfect for the zippi doll. It does however require the addition of a tilt switch, so to make a zippi doll you would need: An electro-fashion sewable LED kit An electro-fashion tilt switch (see Individual e-textiles parts) You then need to follow the instructions in the free to download zippi doll notes and make the doll using fabric, zips, buttons etc which you have supplied. The class pack contains parts to make 60 sewable LED kits (50 with two flashing LEDs, 10 with one colour LED) and offers this at a cheaper price than buying the individual kits. The alternative is to go for the individua
l electro-fashion sewable LED kits which would be perfect to test it with a small group.
