Q:
Is it possible to still use these with wire and solder?
Asked by: Molly Rose
A:
Thank you for your question, it is theoretically possible but the boards are designed to work with the electro fashion thread so the dimensions are not ideal for wiring.

Hello William, I have checked with our supplier and they advise that the wavelength for the LED used on this board is between 460-470nm.

Q:
If i am using the pack of 10 with conductive thread is there anything else i will need to buy?
Asked by: Heléna Quinn
A:

To make a basic circuit with the electro-fashion items you would need a coin cell holder to power the circuit along with the correct coin cell, conductive thread and LED’s. You can power a maximum of 6 LED’s from one coin cell holder. A full range of electro-fashion products can be viewed here https://www.kitronik.co.uk/e-textiles-conductive-thread.html

Q:
Hi, I am using some LED's on a GCSE project and would like to use the ultra slim sewable LED's. Can you advise me on how many can be lit with one coin battery. I think I may need as many as 10 on the product we are designing. What would you suggest? Thanks Helen Good
Asked by: Helen Good
A:
There is a limit on how much power you can pull from a coin cell battery. With these LEDs you should be able to connect about five LEDs and not notice a reduction in brightness. If you add more LEDs you won't damage anything, but all the LEDs will become dimmer. With 5 LEDs the coin cell will last approximately 4 hour. Therefore in order to light 10 LEDs you would be best using two coin cell holders, these can be connected together in parallel (i.e. '+' on one to the '+' on the other one and the '-' on one to the '-' on the other one).
