Teaching / Learning Opportunities:
As well as offering a stylish way to house your amplifier and speaker it also introduces you several aspects of Design & Technology; laser cutting, mechanical assembly and Kerf cutting/bending, making them an ideal Design & Technology classroom activity. Laser Cutting: Once you have downloaded the relevant files for your project, you can then import them into your laser cutter software. You can then choose to cut all of the parts from the same perspex sheet or you can spread the parts over different coloured perspex sheets for a more impactful end result. Mechanical Assembly: Once you have all of the required parts, the build presents quite a challenge to those new to assembling a design. Fortunately, we have detailed build instructions to guide you through the process. Kerf Cutting/Bending: This is a technique that has traditionally been associated with woodworking that allows you to bend the wood around a corner, as opposed to having separate pieces and a joint. As well as being a good practical solution it is also very aesthetically pleasing. This technique also works for bending acrylic sheets and forms the basis of both of our amplifier case designs detailed below.MP3 Mono Amplifier Case:
