Hi Libby, I would go for transparent/semi transparent sheets as the coloured sheets will block too much of the light. I would suggest you experiment with you paint idea using an off-cut so see what results you get.

I am interested in the Polypropylene sheets as I am designing a lamp and shade for my A Level 3D product design class and was delighted when you mentioned a 'lamp shade' at the start of the video. I was wondering if you could tell me more about how this would work as a lamp shade, would i have to buy the transparent sheet for it to project any light? Could this material be painted so it would be a colour but still project light? Thanks, Libby
