Q:
I've been looking for one of these for a 4 team game - is that also available?
Asked by: Charlie
A:
Hi Charlie, Unfortunately it wouldnb't be possible to alter the kit to run for 4 people due to the way the kit is built. The best bet might be to create one from scratch using something like a PICAXE-18 Project Board which can have 5 inputs and 8 outputs.

Q:
Would I be able to :-
1) fit extension wires to the board to mount the leds off the board? About 6 inches from the board.
2) add a parallel led to the existing led's ? What is the led voltage rating?

Thats it really, thanks for making this board.
Asked by: Anonyms
A:
Yes and yes, you can do both those things. The forward voltage on those LEDs is 2.1V. Remember to calculate the new resistor values!

Q:
Another question - is there a limit on the distance between push buttons and the PCB? I want to have about 10 feat of wire, to allow a University Challenge type match - two teams on opposite tables, with the quiz master in the middle. I would be using shielded audio type cable.
Asked by: Chris Quinn
A:
The maximum allowable length of cable would depend on the resistance of the cable. If you have a data sheet for the cable you are using I could work it out for you. That said, 10 feet should be fine for most cable types.

Q:
I would like to buy this kit as it will do exactly what I'd like it to do. What I'd also like to know would it be possible to build this kit up to enable me to add more triggers/teams etc..? Many thanks in advance
Asked by: Ian Graham
A:
It is possible to add more than one button per team, but you can only have two teams. The buttons for the person / team is a push to make so if you want to add more people to the team just connect an additional push to make switch for each additional person, these want to go in parallel with the original switch.

Q:
Hi, i am interested in making a quiz buzzer for an open day in work and your product seems to fit the bill, my electronics knowhow is limited having only put together simple circuits which are much like a paint by numbers kind of thing, if i was to purchase this product would you be able to supply the more detailed instructions that i myself would need? also would i be able to extend slightly the push switches so they would reach across 2 tables....maybe around 4 feet? Many thanks, Lee.
Asked by: Lee Lengden
A:
Anyone that buys this kit will receive a set of instructions that include the step by step information for building the kit, debugging it and how it works. The more detailed notes that schools receive contain information on schemes of work, design brief work sheets and so on that are specific to using the kit in the class room and wouldn?t be of that much use outside of school. You can see what?s included in the notes by looking at the PDF which is in
the above description. As for the cable it wouldn?t be a problem to extend the switch cables or even put more than one switch in parallel.
